How to Add Stocks to the Notification Center on Your iPhone
The grey bar that can be pulled down from the top of an iPhone’s screen is called the Notification Center. In addition to displaying “Push” notifications and e-mail message contents, the Notification Center can also be used to display information like the local weather. It can also be used to track the constantly updating stocks that are being traded on the stock market each day. Getting your iPhone Notification Center to display this stock information only requires that you adjust a few very specific settings regarding how the Notification Center actually works. Your phone will take care of the rest.
Step 1
Turn on your iPhone’s screen and open up the “Settings” application. Though the stock market information that you want will eventually reside in the Notification Center, you actually have to add that information by configuring a few options in the “Settings” app on your device.
Step 2
Scroll down to the second section of buttons on screen and select the “Notifications” option. The second section also contains the “Do Not Disturb” option and is located just below the “Airplane Mode,” “Wi-Fi” and “Bluetooth” options at the top of your iPhone’s screen.
Step 3
Scroll down to the final sections of icons on screen, labeled “Not in Notification Center.” A button labeled “Stock Widget” will be in this section, indicating that no stock information is currently present in your iPhone’s Notification Center. Tap the icon a single time to open the “Stock Widget” notification settings section of the application.
Step 4
Tap the “Off” button next to the phrase “Notification Center” to enable the option in question. Tap the blue “Notifications” button at the top of the screen to return to the previous page. The “Stock Widget” option will now be present in the section of the screen labeled “In Notification Center,” indicating that the changes that you’ve made to the application have been accepted.
Close the “Settings” application and swipe downward from the top of the screen to reveal the Notification Center. Stock information will now be present above the main “Notification” area of the Center and below the “Weather” and “Tap to Tweet” widgets.
Step 5
You can add additional stocks to the Notification Center by opening the main “Stocks” application on your iPhone. Once opened, tap the “Information” button in the lower right side of the screen and the “+” button in the window that appears to enter any stock symbol that you want to add. Tap “Done” to finish making changes. The stock that you specified will now appear in the crawl in the iPhone’s Notification Center.
