Glenn Beck Social Justice
Just like his earlier life and boyhood, Glenn Beck’s career as a television show host, and also a radio show host was quite controversial. ‘Glenn Beck Social Justice’ is a very controversial incident involving a comment from Glenn Beck on his radio show, which is named after him as ‘The Glenn Beck Program’. Beck is normally known as a very conservative host of radio shows. This incident regarding social justice stirred the controversy and debate between Glenn Beck’s followers and critics. Beck’s followers place Beck in a very high esteem as a stalwart of constitutional show host, while the critics most often calls his antics as conspiracy theories.
The whole saga of ‘Glenn Beck Social Justice’ controversy started with Beck advising his listeners on the radio show of his. His advice, for his listeners, was to leave the churches every time it seemed to have any sort of commitment with ‘Social Justice’. He mentioned the word ‘Economic justice’ too, along with the above mentioned word. According to him those two words were some sort of code words which, in some way, are related with, what Beck christened as, some perversion of Gospel. It, consequently and naturally, caused a huge uproar amongst the people of Christian community and religion. Many of his followers, and also his critics got involved in deciphering the meaning of those code words uttered by Beck. The simple theory was that the word ‘social’ in that accursed phrase was pointing or referring to the discourse of religious beliefs which started at the start of the 20th century. At that point, it was believed that the social gospel movement had got propelled towards some sort of holistic salvation. Now the word justice may well be a reflection of Glenn Beck’s sarcasm in that phrase. As the Social gospel itself, sometimes, was unjust, the comment ‘Social Justice’ is a bit sarcastic.
