The easy availability and convenience have attracted the public to prefer various kinds of tissue papers for different applications. Tissue papers are made from recycled paper, wood containing virgin fibers and wood free pulp. Even if there are other products made from recycled materials, the manufacturing of tissue papers from recycled materials aid to reduce the cut down of trees as they affect the environmental stability. Such papers are also cost effective and fit for usage in almost all applications.

The tissue converting process has a very important value in the final qualities and performance of tissue paper. While undergoing conversion, there are four major processes in parent reels. They are embossing, printing, cutting, folding or reeling. Embossing is the main component in tissue converting process. It is in this step a final texture is applied to the tissue and it improves the strength, appearance and absorbency .It is mainly used to impart such characteristics in house hold tissues.

The cutting and folding step of tissue converting process involves the determination of the texture of final tissues. The texture component involves number of tissues per roll, sheets per cartridge, size, roll dimension, roll length, folding pattern etc. Almost all manufacturers perform the tissue converting process at the final stage of their production and are done by third party converting agencies.
