Instead try using poppy oil as it has fewer tendencies to turn yellow. Avoid drying your work in the dark. This will cause the oil to rise and give the surface a yellow tint. If the paint on the palette forms wrinkles as it dries, it means you have added to much oil. And if you wish to clean away certain layers use alcohol, as it is a very powerful solvent.
