Mostly, pink, white and grey threads are used. The tradition became famous in China in the 19th century and has continued to fantasize the youngsters and oldies. Unfortunately, the trend of crocheting with strings has slowed down as youngsters are more into what we call modern things. To revive this tradition, several institutions offer the art of crocheting with strings to keep the tradition alive.
