It was in the year 1972 when the E-mail concept emerged for the first time, followed by USENET in 1979, a news group based on e-mail. Newsgroups eventually became bulletin boards and in order to save time on waiting for a reply; several small bulletin board communities incorporated chat. They also preferred IM be introduced into their respective networks.
However, the first ever real-time chat room was the CompuServe CB simulator and almost all the users widely regard it.Since its launching in 1980, the CB simulator managed to capitalize on the explosive public recognition of citizen’s band radio-culture in the USA’s country music and movies. It provided users with facility to exchange real-time message(s) on as many as 40 different channels.Eventually, the concept evolved into the single chat rooms concept and now there are countless forms of the same available to us. Members of single chat rooms are allowed to either chat or talk and meet privately; or in the form of group(s).
