Reasons for Engine Oil Leaks
A car that is leaking oil in the engines is one that will have various other problems if the leak is not detected in time. Engine oil is the essential lubricant that the engine needs in order to function smoothly and have increased performance. There are various reasons why a car would be leaking. There are two types of oils found in a car:
transmission oil and engine oil. Transmission oil is the one that lubricates the clutch, differentials, gears and transmission. It prevents these parts from rubbing against each other in such a way that they would create friction. The oil in the engine is used to lubricate the crankshaft, pistons in the engine and various other parts that work with the engine. The transmission oil leaks when the gasket breaks. The gasket is the part that holds together the transmission and the differential. The oil leaks more when the car is colder than when it’s warm because the gap opens more when the car is cold. Leaks in the engine occur when the different parts of the engine tear apart at the gaskets. The gaskets hold the various components of the engine and keep them together with seals. When these seals get broken, one experiences leaks. This type of leak happens more when the car is hot because the heat makes the oil thin and also due to pressure inside the engine. One should moreover, check for motor oil leaks. The oils can be bought at any petrol station.
