It seems that the career of Jennifer Ehle is picking up fast since past few years. This beautiful American actress has been around the scene since quite a lot of time now. But somehow, she never could make it to the top league. However, things seem to have taken a better turn now, as she has been appearing in amazing movies one after the other.

She made her debut in television series ‘The Camomile Law’. But her big break came with her BAFTA winning performance of Elizabeth Bennet in BBC’s television adaptation of ‘Pride And Prejudice’ in 1995. It is rumored that during that time she also dated her co-star Colin Firth (who played Mr Darcy in it). She got her first major feature film in ‘Paradise Road’.  She also gave a memorable performance in the revolution drama ‘Sunshine’.

The major difference between her and other contemporary actresses is that even while pursuing a career in films, she never lost touch with theatre. In 2000, her role as ‘Annie’ in Broadways ‘The Real Thing’ fetched her many awards including Theatre world award and Tony award for best actress.

However, if only movies are concerned, between 2002 and 2007,there were only a couple of forgettable movies like’ Alpha Male’. But solely and steadily she started rebuilding her career. She got an important role in the crime drama ‘Pride and Glory’.

After that, there has been no looking back for her. She starred in movies like ‘The Ides Of March’, Oscar winning movie ‘The Kings Speech’ and ‘The Adjustment Bureau’, back to back. And suddenly, she was back in form. Even last year horror flick ‘Contagion’, she held her ground in front of co stars like Kate Winslet and Gwyneth Paltrow. She also appeared in a lead role in television series ‘A Gifted Man’.  And now her fans are eagerly awaiting her next release ‘Zero Dark Thirty’, which is based on U.S navy seal’s hunt for Osama Bin Laden.
