So many people have decided to get into book writing, but very few have made it big. To be able to be among the famous authors, you need to be very skillful and exceptional. Famous authors do not only come from the book writing field only, but some are drawn from other fields like song writing and script writing. Many of those in the list are also poets who have made a mark in the world by perfecting their art.
Poets and script writers like William Shakespeare have made it to the very top. Shakespeare lived centuries ago, but his work is still being studied in schools as set books, and he has die-hard fans who have read all his books and even crammed some. His plays have been made into screen plays for movies that have really done well the whole world over. Some music writers do also fall under the same group of famous authors.

His songs were loved everywhere in the world, and he attracted a very strong following who lived by his word, even after his early death. His lyrics were made of some really thought of words that are make very good quotes speaking of how to make peace in the world and being good to fellow man. The list cannot be complete without some great politicians and country men like Abraham Lincoln, Winston Churchill and many more.
I think that Martin Luther King is one of the most quoted authors of all times, and is close to the top of the famous authors list. His books were able to move multitudes and inspire them to be better people and not to repay evil with evil. Philosophers like Albert Einstein also fall under the same umbrella. There are many more authors who are the best in their respective fields.
