Eden Gardens
Eden gardens is located in Kolkata, formerly known as Calcutta. It is owned by the Indian army. If you are a cricket fan, you should be very familiar about this place. This historical place has been the venue for the rivaling Indian cricket teams; Royal Challengers Bangalore and Kolkata Knight Riders last 2011. This stadium can hold up to 82,000 fans prior to its improvement. It is the second biggest stadium, just behind Melbourne’s cricket stadium. It is said that the stadium can hold up to 120,000 fans to date.Having that capacity, it is almost hard to believe why it is nearly impossible for a regular fan to get a ticket for games held in Eden Gardens. It is simply the epitome that Indian people really love cricket. They got it from their British colonizers and now it seems that they are the number one place to look up to when we speak of Cricket. So, for a stadium that can hold up to 120,000 fans and a country having millions of fans, it is obvious that buying a ticket would be near impossible for regular guys.I have also indicated that Eden Gardens is not only a place where you can have all the fun and excitement. All hell was loosed back then when riots are frequently happening.
May it be bad calls or caused by drunken fans, it should always be controlled because stampede can cause a lot of death. The game itself is fun and entertaining but the atmosphere that the stadium brings makes the fans crazy enough to begin rioting. It may also be the reason why the stadium is very popular. Crazy fans and tragedies can always make a place popular. And, undeniably true, we needed these things to happen sometimes so we can have the best cricket game.
