A Journey Through Boston Children’s Museum
Boston Children’s Museum located in Boston, Massachusetts is the second oldest museum for children in United States. The main aim of this museum is to educate children. Amusement and education can go hand in hand with the help of this museum.Some of the permanent exhibits in Boston Children’s Museum are Arthur and friends, art studio, construction zone, global gallery, Japanese house, Johnny’s Workbench, KidStage, New balance climb etc.Arthur Read is a character from Marc Brown’s books and television series. Read Family Kitchen and the Backyard Sleepover help the children to learn and play. Children’s creativity can be improved in the Art studio inside the Museum. A carnival boat is provided in the Boston’s Black Community section where kids can decorate and ride. Apart from that, it contains a Dominican store, Joe’s Barber Shop, African Queen Beauty Salon and Cape Verdean beats where children can learn and play.Light shows, musical chairs, gigantic chess game etc are some features in the museum. A model Kindergarten is set up in the museum so that kids and adults can ask the staff teachers various questions and get their doubts cleared. So a Japanese house is made in the Boston Children’s Museum which helps the visitors to learn about Japanese family life, culture, art etc. Visitors are allowed to work with hand tools and natural materials in Johnny’s Workbench. A three storey climbing structure that is situated in the front of museum called the new balance climb. Play area for children below 3 years is provided inside the museum by the name PlaySpace. It contains toy train, tree house climber etc for the kids to enjoy. Science playground in the museum helps the visitors to learn more about the natural world.A landmark feature of Boston Children’s Museum is the Hood Milk Bottle Plaza in the shape of a milk bottle. It serves as ice cream stand and snacks bar.
