Laminated tabletops were first invented by a Swedish company called Pergo AB in the year 1977. In spite of its invention in 1977, the tabletops were not popular in United States until year 1994. But these days, they are most popular forms of tops taken by many people to top their expensive tables. These table tops can be of different material like soft plastic sheets, soft rubber, transparent sheets etc found in different colour and designs etc. Today, most of the counter tops are fashioned from plastic laminate. These laminated table tops are well designed to safe time, effort and money for the long maintenance of the table. The best part about laminated table tops floors is that they are easy to clean. It is easy to clean the covered tops as they are resistant to moisture.
Maintaining Laminated Table Tops
Quite often, one needs a damp towel or a dry duster to clean the table. The best way to clean these tables is to use the acetone mixed cleaner and rub it light with a duster to get the shine and fragrance. One needs abrasive material or simply water to keep their table clean. Laminated plastics can be found in many designs, patterns and colors etc. The following tips are recommended for preparing an installation of laminated plastic over a table top: The surface of the table should be flat, and dry. If one has laminated plastic at a 1/32″ thickness, one can use them on vertical surfaces, but the 1/16″ sheets should be left for flat surfaces like counters and table tops. Make sure that the table is thoroughly cleaned, surfaced ready for the plastic laminate. If there is any paint or varnish on the surface it should be removed before the lamination. Regular particle board and plywood sheets are best suggested plastic laminates, so one needs to avoid the high-density particle board hype.
