The best and age old prophesized way to attain a healthy and nutritious diet is by eating fruits and vegetables. They are great for a healthy lifestyle as they act as antioxidants, shielding the body from various chronic diseases along with bolstering the immune system. Vegetables are a quintessential part of our diet.

As our body is not able to synthesize all the nutrients required by it we need to take it from an external source and vegetables have an abundance of that to offer. Statistics have shown, a diet rich in vegetables provides all the nutrients required by the body, which in turn keeps a person healthy and also keep various infections and diseases at bay.

Each and every vegetable is a great source of some or the other type of nutrients. So, where asparagus and avocado are good source of Vitamin C, broccoli is known for Vitamin B2 and corn for Vitamin B1.

Other vegetables known for their high nutrient content are Brussels sprouts (a rich source of Vitamin C), cabbage (rich in Vitamin K), carrots (a healthy source for Vitamin A and Vitamin K). It depends upons us, how exactly would we like to consume vegetables. Will it be fresh raw or blended to a delicious smoothie?

Whether cooked or boiled or tossed in steaming bowls of soups, vegetables are both a source of nutrition as well as a distinct flavor for the food. Along with being rich source of vitamins, vegetables are also known for their minerals and fiber values.
