Some Popular Magazines of the LDS Church
Since the past several years, the Church of Jesus of Latter Day Saints, commonly known as the Mormon Church, has been publishing monthly magazines and other periodicals. In the recent years, three major magazines have been brought out.
“The Friend” is a publication for the younger members of the church, also known as the Church of LDS. This magazine has pictures, games, puzzles and many other activities that children enjoy. It contains a section called “Our Creative Friends” that contains work of art by the youth from the church. The purpose of this magazine is aimed at building gospel and testimony knowledge among the children.
“The New Era” is the other important magazine of the Church of LDS aimed at teens and older youth. The magazine comprises articles and stories that help the teens to grasp a better understanding of the gospel principles via inspirational quotes delivered by the church leadership. It also includes artwork by contributors and pictures that have a catch phrase for teaching a moral principle.

“The Ensign” is for the adult members of the Church of LDS. This publication consists of direct instruction from the church’s leadership. The magazine comprises a message from the first presidency which is the topmost governing body of the Church of LDS. It also has articles written by church members and the general authority. The magazine has pages of LDS art.
These magazines have been a very important part of the Church of LDS from the very early days to spread news about the church and share spiritual experiences, besides proving insights to gospel. The LDS art, on the other hand, has been used for helping visual aids make articles all the more interesting. Over the years, these magazines have become an integral part of the Church of Jesus of Latter Day Saints and are eagerly awaited by all.
