Philadelphia is one of the biggest cities in Pennsylvania. It is located in the Northern America between the Delaware and the Schuylkill rivers. The population is close to 1.5 million people.

It was discovered by William Penn in the 16th century. There are five regions that make up the city.  At one time, it was the capital city of USA.  The economy of the town relies heavily on the manufacturing, information technology and service sectors. It has a wide history that makes many tourists visit the place.

It has a humid climate with the summers offering the best seasons for visitors. The snow is not heavy as compared to other towns. The total area measures 142 square miles. There are two points that define Philadelphia. This is the Chestnut hill which is the highest point and the lowest point being the area around the sea.

It is composed of both the old and the new architecture.  The tallest building in the town is Comcast center. There are also other sky scrapers that can be seen across the region.  Other residential houses are built along the rows. This are called the row houses.

The culture among the people is diverse. Many historical sites are located here with the biggest independence national historical park being the heart of them all. Other attractions in the city are the Home of Edgar Allan Poe, Betsy Rose and Thaddeus. There are also research museums like the Franklin institute.

The art centers are located across the region. The Academy of fine arts in Pennsylvania and the Rodin museum are all attractive places to visit while on a vacation. You can also visit the plastic and the sketch clubs.

If you love the local dishes then you can take the hoagies, scrapples, water ice, tastykake and the pretzels. There are many restaurants and hotels in Philadelphia that offer cheap accommodations. This can be found on the websites or visiting their offices. You can also participate in sports like baseball, ice hockey and football.
