Katy Perry; A True Musical Star

Katy Perry, born Katheryn Elizabeth Hudson is a famous musician, well known the world over for her controversial yet catchy songs. She was born in 1984, and went on to become one of the biggest names in the music industry to-date. She has achieved huge success in the music industry, and has been able to maintain her charm and musical prowess over the years.

Katy Perry came from humble beginnings, and is the daughter of a minister, coming from a very religious background.

Her musical ability was evident form a young age, and was part of her churches’ choir since the age of nine. She grew up listening to gospel music, as her parents did not allow her to listen to what they termed as secular music.

Her parents spotted her talent at an early age, and encouraged her to take vocal coaching after which they enrolled her at the Music Academy of the West. She later started recording with the Island Record Label, where she was able to perfect her song writing skills in addition to forging an image for herself.

She became famous for her use of bold colors in her choice of clothing, and her fruit shaped accessories attracted a lot of attention.  It was reported that her mother disliked her music, but Katy Perry later refuted these claims, saying that her mother had been misquoted by the media.

Her relationship and subsequent marriage to Russell Brand has attracted as much attention as her music career. Katy Perry’s over the top wedding to Brand caused a stir in the entertainment industry, with everyone wanting to be a part of the grand occasion. Aside from her personal life, Katy Perry is no doubt a musical force to be reckoned with, and has produced hits that have become a worldwide sensation.
