Revamp Your Restaurant

When redecorating a restaurant it is important to first decide what type of a theme you are going with. Once you have a general theme it will be easier for all of the other pieces to fall into place. Getting high grade commercial furniture that fits that theme will be a necessity in making it a comfortable, aesthetically pleasing for diners to experience.

The theme, in many cases, will be influenced by the type of food that is served. There is not generally a nautical theme when you are serving baby back ribs and such. A nautical theme is usually reserved for seafood restaurants and things of that nature.

Once you have an idea for a theme you can start to build from there. Another factor that will influence your décor is the price of the food and the type of clientele that visits the establishment. You will not populate your walls and shelves with an eclectic mix of eye catching knick knacks and humorous signs or sports memorabilia if you are running an upscale steak house.

No matter what the décor, comfort is an important factor. You want people to be able to sit back and enjoy their meal. They will also want to be able to have a conversation and enjoy the company of their dinner companions.

There are a few things that can interfere with the enjoyment of a meal:

  • In general having large centerpieces in the middle of a table are cumbersome and hard to communicate around.
  • Overcrowding of the tables and chairs that make it difficult to get around
  • Loud music and a chaotic atmosphere, unless it is the type of restaurant, such as a sports bar, that invites this type of surroundings.
  • The kitchen should be out of the view so the customers aren’t reminded of all the work that is going on behind the scenes.  Plus you don’t want the customers to see their food sitting there waiting to be picked up and brought to them.
  • Lighting is something that needs close attention. Too much light can be annoying and ruin the ambiance. Having it too dark makes it hard to see and can make some people uncomfortable.

Redecorating a restaurant takes some inspiration and a lot of perspiration. It won’t be an easy job, but in the end it will be well worth it when the customers are coming in droves to tell you how great the place looks. So getting that commercial furniture that fits right in will be the frosting on the cake.
